MEET THE TEAM

FOUNDER & CEO

Founding Director of The Calidan Missions. Her late husband Major C.D Nwambuonwo was one of the victims of the tragic C-130 military plane crash in Lagos on September 26th 1992. She is a mother of four and a grandmother. Iwebuka O. Nwambuonwo holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria Nigeria. She came to the USA in 1996. A U.S citizen, Iwebuka is currently a licensed practical nurse.

VICE PRRESIDENT

David is a Christian Leader and an experienced Technology Development Manager. Over the past 45 years, he has served in various roles in Church leadership as Pastor and Bible Teacher and passionate advocate of the Love of Christ for all. He is also a retired engineer who has worked at several Fortune 500 companies as a strategist, developer, architect, and manager. With his wealth of spiritual and corporate world experience, David offers us wise guidance on how best to accomplish our goals as a ministry.

SECRETARY

Esther Zufelt is originally from Nigeria, and having resided there for a few years in her late teens, she is aware of the challenges many face living there. As a mother of three, she is sympathetic to mothers who end up raising children on their own, especially as widows. She has a passion for ensuring people know they are seen, especially in their struggles. Being able to serve on Calidan Missions board has been a great opportunity to play a small role in bringing to light the needs of the many families we support in Nigeria, so fellow purpose-driven individuals can be aware of, and join in, our mission to adequately meet their needs.​

DIRECTOR OF PHILANTROPY

With 20 years of experience in the investment and asset operations space, Kuzi works to create strategies for Calidan to reach fundraising goals and develop revenue to assist the foundation in developing revenue to sustain operations.​

COORDINATOR OF CLINIC AFFAIRS

Afam Nwambuonwo has spent over 20 years in the medical field holding various positions such as CNA, Pharmacy technician and Physical Therapy Technician with the last 5 years as a Doctor in Physical Therapist. As the coordinator of clinic affairs, he supports Calidan missions in the outreach program and clinics.

ASSISTANT FUNDRAISING COORDINATOR

Uche has been in healthcare and wellness for the past 10 years working as a physical therapist. He is passionate about his walk with Christ, love for his beautiful wife, 3 children and his close knit family as well as serving at his church for the last year o years. He lives by the principal that Christ last command is our first priority and strives to fulfill that in every aspect of his life.

TREASURER

Vern Schmidt has been a dedicated member of ImagineNations Church since 2013, actively contributing to the community and its mission for over a decade. His commitment reflects his deep faith and passion for supporting others in their spiritual journeys. He founded SBS Accounting in 1984, building a successful career in the financial industry. He has happily married his wife, Carolyn, for 58 years. Together, they have a large and loving family, including 15 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild, who bring them endless joy. Vern's life is a testament to hard work, dedication, and family values.
