CALIDAN SCHOOL
We understand the challenges that fatherless and orphaned children face daily. Calidan Missions is committed to providing them with a stable and caring environment. Through educational programs, mentorship, and access to essential resources, we aim to empower these children to overcome obstacles and reach their full potential.
As a fully accredited educational institution catering to preschool through high school in Lagos State, Calidan Schools welcomed 20 new students at the commencement of the 2018 academic year, bringing the total student count to 84. Among these, 40 students benefit from grants, while 44 are enrolled as fee-paying students. As of 2023, we have admitted 6 new regular students, maintaining a total of 67 regular students, resulting in an overall student population of 114.
In our facilities, we offer a total of 40-bed dormitories, with 4 girls and 8 boys currently occupying 12 of them. Furthermore, our committed staff comprises 3 non-teaching staff, 15 teaching staff, and 2 administrative personnel, totaling 20 dedicated individuals.
Providing essential support, we continue our mission to offer one daily meal for our grant recipients, recognizing the financial constraints faced by many parents and caregivers. Calidan Schools remains dedicated to fostering a nurturing learning environment and ensuring the well-being of all our students.
The students continue to show improvements academically and emotionally, as a result of their basic needs being met. Their overall well-being and confidence directly result from the loving care of our devoted team of educators.
In addition to a meal-a-day, Calidan Schools presently provides transportation for some of our grant recipients, whose parents/caregivers cannot afford the daily commute to and from school, due to the location of the new facility. This helps reduce the school dropout rate among the students.
